Barron’s, one of the premier investment publications, named Abbott Chairman and CEO, Miles White to its annual list of 30 World’s Best CEOs. This marks Mr. White’s sixth consecutive year on the “World’s Best CEOs” list.
The Barron’s story deemed Mr. White “an industry pacesetter in product development and growth,” highlighting key strategic acquisitions during his 15-year tenure and the transformative decision to separate Abbott’s proprietary research-based pharmaceuticals business, creating AbbVie.
According to the story, the CEOs selected each year are not chosen by a statistical formula, but rather the line-up “reflects the views of Barron's reporters and editors, taking into account the opinions of investors, analysts, and industry executives.”
For inclusion on the global list, Barron’s prefers candidates that have been CEO of a large organization for at least five years.
